Monique Lhuiller Tie-Dye Gown

After a long day of "pinning" away on the virtual pinboard site Pinterest, I am seriously pining away for one of my favorite finds, this Monique Lhuillier tie-dye gown, with frothy lathers of silk, inked out in dreamy, deep blue waves.

But when it comes to fashion, The Artful Shopper is not one to rest on her fashionable laurels merely daydreaming. So, I've assembled some fetching finds for your closet and home in a new feature called Fashion/House, that will turn my style "pinspirations" and yours, into a very shop-able reality! So, if you like what you see, be sure to follow all of my boards on Pinterest!

Here are ten pieces to bring blissful beach vibes into your surroundings daily. You can get the look on your own by incorporating deep indigo and tie-dye, of course, but also with silver mercury, shells, raffia or anything that reminds you of the elemental magic of the sea.

Inspiration: How to Make an Artful Display of Decor

My Dresser VignetteMy Dresser, Pottery Barn Jewelry Box & Anthropologie MirrorMy Anthropologie Mirror detail

Here’s an artful arrangement from my bedroom dresser displaying some of my favorite Anthropologie and Pottery Barn home accessories. As you can see I love vintage-y weathered peices with lots of character. It's as if their beautiful details have stood the test of time which makes them more beautiful to me. Gorgeous and flawed and hearkening back to another time brings a sense of nostalgia to every day. The mirror, mercury vase and perfume bottle are all Anthropologie and the jewelry box my sister bought me from Pottery Barn has an old-fashioned turn-lock & key that makes it feel like a special family heirloom. Will cherish it always!  See below to get the look for yourself!

I've always enjoyed collecting things. I think back to childhood when sticker books, Barbie dolls and My Little Pony were my prized collections. It’s as if as young girls we are trained to become “collectors” of sorts. Or perhaps it’s just the innate hunter/gatherer survivor instinct from prehistoric days that can explain our affinity for stockpiling a vast collection of shoes as grown-ups! Because every fashionista knows you can’t survive without at least 10 pairs of shoes! I’ve been able to pare down my knick-knacks over the years, still, some things remain –some of them stylish, some purely sentimental. So, what to do when you’re waist-deep in tchotchkes? Well, you could tune in to an episode of Hoarders and get scared straight or, you can check out Casa Sugar’s regular feature on vignettes and learn how to make some pleasing arrangements all your own! Then post yours for inspiration for others. That’s what I did. It's all about the editing and choosing pieces that are special to you. The Vignettes group is a great place for inspiration! Now get designing and don’t forget to pay it forward at CasaSugar.
